Automated Trading Bot — Strategy & Risk Disclosure

Version bot-strategy-v1 · Last updated June 2026

The Automated Trading Bot places real orders in your own Dhan account using your API token. Trading in equity options and futures carries a high risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Past performance does not guarantee future results. This is an execution tool, not investment advice.

What the strategy does

The bot mirrors StockSaathi's in-house scanner signals into your account. When the scanner announces a qualifying pick, the bot enters the corresponding position; when that signal reaches its target or stop, the bot exits. You are following a systematic, rules-based signal — there is no discretionary override.

  • Options: buys the at-the-money CE (bullish signal) or PE (bearish signal) of the underlying.
  • Futures: buys/sells the nearest-month futures contract in the signal's direction.
  • Fixed size: exactly 1 lot per signal in every member account — the bot never pyramids or averages down.

Entries, targets, stops & trailing

  • Entries fire only while the market feed is live and only for active subscribers who have enabled auto-execute.
  • Options: an initial protective stop (default −35% of premium) applies before the first target (T1).
  • At T1 the bot books part of the position and trails the stop to protect gains; at T2 it books more and lets a final piece run, trailing tighter as the move extends.
  • Futures: on T1 the stop moves to breakeven; on T2 or stop-loss the position is closed.
  • End-of-day safety net: any position still open is squared off near market close so nothing is carried overnight by the bot.

Order execution & slippage

To avoid orders getting stuck or filling at extreme prices, the bot uses an aggressive-limit "poll-and-chase" method: it places a limit order near the reference price and steps it more aggressively up to a capped slippage band (approx. 3% for index, 5% for stocks) until it fills. If an entry cannot fill within that band it is cancelled (you simply skip that trade). Exits use a guaranteed-fill approach so you are never left stuck holding a position. Execution still depends on live market liquidity, your available margin, and Dhan's systems — fills are not guaranteed.

Fees, margin & your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for maintaining sufficient margin/funds in your Dhan account for each lot.
  • Brokerage, exchange charges, STT, GST, stamp duty and any statutory taxes are borne by you.
  • You can pause the bot, set a daily loss cap, disable futures, or disconnect Dhan at any time.
  • You are solely responsible for your own capital, decisions, taxes and regulatory obligations.
